Sunday Sonnet!

🎀

As though in rhythmic tune with breeze they danced,
Bright faces smiling gaily as they swayed,
Recalling thought of erstwhile spring romance,
When young hearts went a-walking one fine day;
Beneath a cloudless cerulean sky,
A gentle zephyr kissed enchanting blooms,
As hand in hand young lovers walked nearby,
While whispered speech their precious time consumes;
In earnestness they solemnly avowed
Their loyalty into eternity;
Misfortune would their destiny becloud,
Fruition of their dreams was not to be.
Idyllic plans for future oft are made,
Then by reality to be betrayed!

Sunday Sonnet!

🎀

Beneath the freezing splendour of thick snow
Awaits the vernal birth of crocus hue,
As rising waves of warmth their balm bestow,
Signage of nature’s rebirth shall ensue;
As certain as the flight of winter’s woe,
Essential to the circle of all being,
Anticipate advent of summer’s glow,
When some to distant climes shall go a-fleeing,
Thus interact the rhythmic cogs of life,
Regardless of the whims of creature-kind,
Whether it be in harmony or strife,
The laws of nature are in gold enshrined.
The present to the future shall succumb,
The past without exception to become.

Tragic Loss!

IMG_2223(WP)

When Death decides to launch his fateful dart,
Then Grief strikes deep into a mother’s heart –
A daughter sweet at fifty,
Adorable and lovely….
Such loss will rend the sternest soul apart!

Twins!

IMG_3254(WP)

Down lonely avenue of naked trees,
Disconsolate Doubt goes wandering wearily,
Frantic familiar face before him flees,
As though he’s set upon his destiny,

Preoccupied with demons of unease,
Barely a smidge of hope to underpin,
He fails to sense a cause for inner peace,
Close by his side walks Faith his brother Twin!

Little Gestures!

From little acorns large oaks grow,
So, little graces, too,
Upon the hapless hope bestow,
Like early morning dew,
The parched with life imbue!
