Night falls,
Nature retires,
Insomniacs prepare
For silent, lonely hours ahead,
Acceptant of their sad, nocturnal plight,
Though always wishing otherwise
That, like fam’ly and friends,
They can smile when –
Night falls!

Thanks Mel. Though I am blest not to be slave to ‘Insomnia’ – the contrary, rather – I know several people who are thus afflicted….May Hypnos be kind to you. 😉 Hugs! ❤

You’re welcome! I hope Hynos can quiet my overactive imagination. Really, a sword fight between main characters is not the best thing to have play out when you’re trying to fall asleep. But my MCs just can’t seem to fit that in at any other time. Oh well. 🙂

wonderful Ricatameter! Impeccable wording, and so true…for those who have trouble sleeping. Not I, who can sleep anywhere anytime…:-)

I usually do. Once on a plane I slept through dinner…and woke up starving.

we had dinner at a mission church, I slept though the preparations and if one of the priests hadn’t taken pity on me and saved me some enchiladas or whatever…I would have starved. It was ungodly hot and humid…

Ah yes, as one of those frequent insomniacs, I can frequently be found when the sky begins to lighten, Kindle in hand, reading. It is rather my accepted way to pass the nocturnal hours these days. But I do not mind so much, as it is time well spent. Perhaps I should give up drinking espresso at 11:00 p.m.? 🙂

Oh, I do. And eventually, every third night or so, I actually sleep for 5-6 hours at a time 🙂 I think that as we get older, perhaps we get by on less sleep.
