Windows open wide
Flooding rooms with Summer sun,
Salve for lonely hearts!

Alone,
Sans kith or kin,
In dotage years forsooth,
However can someone survive
Within a soul-destroying, mindless world?
Sweet Charity her grace needs show,
Lest hapless lives be left,
Condemned to die,
Alone!

Night falls,
Nature retires,
Insomniacs prepare
For silent, lonely hours ahead,
Acceptant of their sad, nocturnal plight,
Though always wishing otherwise
That, like fam’ly and friends,
They can smile when –
Night falls!

Spare a little Time,
Amidst pleasure,
Thinking of –
Lonesome
Few!
Most,
Well-loved,
Kind-hearted,
Deserving dads:
Happy Fathers Day!

Meant to be posted yesterday….Nonetheless carrying the same intensity!

Sunday Sonnet #3

When dotage fears assail a lonely hour,
Conjuring images frail hearts despair,
Vain thoughts all vestiges of hope devour,
That soul into her sanctum would repair;
When light through windows to the mind grow dim,
And sound like every passing day does fade,
Athletic strength declines in every limb,
And common acts of life commands an aide;
Feel Gratitude for all that’s gone before,
Recalling blessings down the yielding years;
Contentment in good measure lies in store
For him or her who smilingly appears;
As innocence into this world is born,
Serenity departure shall adorn.
