There comes a time all mortals need reflect
Upon their heritage and destiny;
Temptation lurks all details to dissect,
Compassion wills from judgement to feel free;
Embrace the gift of lasting Gratitude,
Whose heart prescribes the elixir of Care;
Her presence smiles of solace, balm, exude,
Transforming clouds of gloom to skies most fair;
Wherever be our roots of provenance,
In palace portals, squalid shanties, too,
Such station be of little consequence,
Humility shall be the measure, true;
Whatever be the privilege at birth,
All transient flesh return to Mother Earth!

Such beautiful words to accompany a fantastic image. We are all specks of dust after all, biding our time to go back to becoming one with earth, yeah? Beautiful, Ell!

This poem is so beautiful … it brought me peace, as I am preparing to go to bed at nearly 3:00 a.m., exhausted and not a little in need of a re-charge. Thank you for these words … truer words were never spoken, and never so beautifully. Have a great week, my friend! Hugs!!!

Love your snowdrop! And your sonnet. Do you mean that compassion should be free of judgement … or the opposite, that we should hold them together?

Thanks Gill. I wonder what the Nazarene would say about unconditional compassion. π Hugs!

WOW! I’m glad to be here again. Majestic and flawless. β€ β€ Judge ? we all judge -I think it's important to check ourselves and be aware of how we judge. Beautiful Babs
