That smarted every eye;
Her furtive smile betrayed despair,
Her gestures pain belie –
Such suff’ring all decry!
The gentle touch of kindness hand
Fuels embers in her heart;
Into her being’s hinterland
Spread flames, hope to impart –
Distress, anon depart!

nice that you visited her, I’m sure she was glad to see you. my sister-in-law is 95. It used to be that 80 was old…now I think I’m just a kid.
