Sunday Sonnet!

Nurtured on a staple diet of lies,
Impervious to persuasive voice of truth,
Disabled Reason fails to recognise
Formation of insensate future youth;
Unblemished blood coursing through tainted veins
Cannot but taint each organ that it feeds,
Thus Truth, which our integrity sustains,
Deforms in mind that evil discord breeds;
Can Truth her pristine beauty e’er regain
After she had so rudely been defaced?
Good Grace essential nature shall retain –
Is Darkest Night not by New Day replaced?
Humanity presumes to govern all,
Crafting thereby the blueprint of its fall.

Sunday Sonnet For ‘T’!

We ask not why a young life should endure
Such ravishing affliction, as this maid,
Nor doubt this malady lies in your cure,
Although misgivings render us afraid;
Like budding rose awaits its summer bloom,
Her teenage aspirations know no bounds,
Yet, now her future seems to presage gloom,
And suffering the highest hopes confounds;
In humble supplication we implore,
In deference to your most Beloved Son,
As much as we His legacy adore,
May, in the end, your Gracious Will be done –
Pray, grant release from hope-devouring pain,
That she her young life’s vigour might regain!

Sunday Sonnet!!

Some soil decorum’s gown with vulgar tongue,
While others acquiesce like senseless sheep,
Unmindful of effect on fertile young,
Their virgin thoughts in bitter bile to steep;
Contaminated seed in good ground sown
Cannot, but yield contaminated crop;
Will ‘Future’ generations ‘Now’ bemoan,
Exhausting efforts, all, decline to stop?
As Nature works with Time all harm to heal,
Can innate human goodness yet prevail?
Despite repeated threats, ill to conceal,
Spirit of Truth shall triumph without fail;
The Future shall forever be unknown,
Until it in the Present shall be shown!

Sunday Sonnet!

IMG_5992(WP)

Cruelly afflicted as an early teen,
Like blighted bud before there’s time to bloom,
Fair maiden, front uncertain days serene,
Negating any images of gloom;
An endless stream of prayers to Heaven flows
Imploring God your constant guard to be;
May He, who on His children grace bestows,
Attend to troubled hearts in charity;
Though dark and rocky be the road ahead,
Uncertain route as seen through human eyes,
Compounded by unhelpful sense of dread
And wonder what tomorrow may arise,
May faith in God of reassurance tell
Whatever future renders shall be well!

Youth,
Irresponsibly optimistic,
Carelessly courageous,
Leaps into the dark;

Common Sense,
Acutely Aware,
Ponders….
