‘Tis reassuring, most, to be aware
Of living in the ambit of God’s Grace,
Each moment that I pause to stand and stare,
Into the vast expanse of boundless space;
Then fills exultant robin tranquil air
With dulcet song, the coldest heart to warm,
Its tiny life embraced within the Care
Of Him, for whom all goodness is the norm.
From boundless sky to ocean, bottomless,
Station or stature, creature counts for naught,
Accessing Godhead’s goodwill limitless,
Save what through humble, patient trust is sought.
Seek not the morrow’s blessings e’er to see,
For all we know, the best is yet to be!

Let not concern for what is yet to be,
Despoil the even tenor of your way,
For no one can beyond the present see,
As all must needs await the morrow’s day;
Insomnia feeds off disquiet soul,
Affecting disposition overall,
Until masters of reason lose control,
Hurtling headlong into a fatal fall;
Be mindful of the Easter Dawn of hope,
As vernal blossoms countryside adorn,
Regenerated faith with doubt shall cope,
When positive perception is reborn.
Let constant trust in goodness e’er reside,
That grace for all tomorrows shall provide.

Then came a gentle whisper on the wind,
Angelic in its velvet undertone,
Like magical ethereal wunderkind,
Emerging from a faraway unknown:
‘What ails your troubled spirit, now? she asked,
And brushed my furrowed forehead with a kiss;
Leaving my meek, defenceless mien unmasked,
Her touch seduced me share what was amiss;
‘Confounded by Tomorrow’s dark unknown,
Deception would my hapless thoughts assail!’
In soft, mellifluous chords her voice intoned:
‘Distracted mind of ancient wit avail –
From shackles of disquietude walk free,
What is to be, Good Grace shall oversee!’

Not for tomorrow’s world feel fear,
Nor yearn for yesterday’s,
The distant hills are too unclear,
What’s gone lives in a haze –
Let Here and Now amaze!
