Sunday Sonnet!

🎆

Then came a gentle whisper on the wind,
Angelic in its velvet undertone,
Like magical ethereal wunderkind,
Emerging from a faraway unknown:
‘What ails your troubled spirit, now? she asked,
And brushed my furrowed forehead with a kiss;
Leaving my meek, defenceless mien unmasked,
Her touch seduced me share what was amiss;
‘Confounded by Tomorrow’s dark unknown,
Deception would my hapless thoughts assail!’
In soft, mellifluous chords her voice intoned:
‘Distracted mind of ancient wit avail –
From shackles of disquietude walk free,
What is to be, Good Grace shall oversee!’

Sunday Sonnet!

🎀

While walking on a lonely sandy beach,
Deserted, but for wavelets at my feet,
A gently rolling object, within reach,
For fleeting moment stopped, as though to greet;
It seemed the wavelets paused a little while,
Attention of my spirit to arrest,
Unconsciously, I stopped and flashed a smile,
Which to an innate pleasure did attest;
From whence came such delight I cannot tell,
Though that it did, I never can deny,
From deep within unconsciousness upwell,
Its authenticity let none decry;
Such mystic moments reverie surprise,
Not often, nor so easy to reprise!
