Sunday Sonnet!

When we meander through our memories field,
Where shall we with capacious harvest start?
Which shall for us more wholesome profit yield,
Red, luscious cherries, sweet, or berries, tart?
Have we the joy to opt for either, or,
When, mindful of abundant fruits, we are
Confronted by the choice of neither, nor,
Firmly embedded like a fallen star?
All these are those whose provenance we share,
And for whose nurture we take full account,
How can we differentiation dare,
And not vain partiality surmount?
Regardless of their diverse quality,
Mem’ries embrace with equanimity!

Sunday Sonnet!

🤗

Anticipation warmed within our hearts
As we imagined seeing kith and kin,
Aware that untowards can play their parts,
Attend, all joy with hope to underpin;
Add to all plans the spice of simple trust,
A leaven that eternally endures;
Assistance, all Divine, regards the just
And wholesome blessed endings e’er ensures;
Without ill intervention jaunt ensued,
Enriched by fulsome pleasure all the way;
To everyone, encountered, joy accrued,
Creating lasting memories each day.
Laudate Deum for felicity,
That freely flowed, through gen’rous hearts, to me.

Sunday Sonnet!

Beneath the dust of mind’s forgetfulness,
Interred, lie dormant, treasured memories
That waken to enquirer’s kind caress,
A fountainhead of joy for retirees;
Impeded, not by favour nor through fear,
A torrent of delightful smiles ensues,
Relating raunchy tales for all to hear,
Into the distant years of blue suede shoes;
Alas! Like clay within a potter’s hand,
Sweet Truth consents to being plied by age,
Much better to indulge this happy band
Than see them trapped within a joyless cage.
Embrace, content, those mild autumnal years,
Lest, they be filled with unremitting tears!

By the Brook on the Moor!

Meandering your way across the time honoured stone,
More often more accompanied than alone;
More soothing sounds there be not, but the clone,
Midst heathered hills, of two souls being one.

The Courage to Be!

On occasional ambles down memory lane,
Precious moments of pleasure our thoughts can assail
Bringing comfort to hearts that are suffering pain,
And a smile to a face that is grim, without fail.

Many languishing souls are reluctant to dream
Of the days and the places they wandered afore,
Apprehensive past spectres to meet, it would seem,
Yet they know not that none there shall be to abhor.

Every moment of life from the present to pass
Is imbued with an aspect of who that we are,
So it ill-behoves any oneself to declasse,
For to be who we are is much better by far.
