Sunday Sonnet!

🎀

Be still, the voice of Inner Self to hear,
Beneath the din of vain distracting thought,
Intent on spawning denizens of fear,
Whose task it is to render sense to naught;
What gain be there homage to tender greed,
But to be numbered midst deluded rest
Who know not of a more enduring need,
Nor can to deeper-rooted mores attest;
Would that The Way proscribe the human choice,
His gentle counsel steeped in wholesome care;
Then shall the Norm of Goodness well rejoice,
And amity prevail beyond compare.
Be still, most blessed insight to embrace,
The promise of New Life replete with Grace.

Sunday Sonnet!

😇

May Blessings of the Child in Stable born,
Replete with joy and peace to all mankind,
Intent the Godhead image to adorn,
Forever habitate each heart and mind;
Division and divisiveness decease
When selfishness and greed are cast aside;
The hunter and the hunted live in peace,
That harmony and goodness might abide;
As gifts of gold, and frankincense and myrrh
Were brought to lowly infant in the crib,
Let Care the plight of under-privileged stir,
That life begin again from Adam’s rib.
If this be, for the faithless, but a dream,
‘Tis not, for who believe in the Supreme!

Sunday Sonnet!!

img_7631wp

Some soil decorum’s gown with vulgar tongue,
While others acquiesce like senseless sheep,
Unmindful of effect on fertile young,
Their virgin thoughts in bitter bile to steep;
Contaminated seed in good ground sown
Cannot, but yield contaminated crop;
Will ‘Future’ generations ‘Now’ bemoan,
Exhausting efforts, all, decline to stop?
As Nature works with Time all harm to heal,
Can innate human goodness yet prevail?
Despite repeated threats, ill to conceal,
Spirit of Truth shall triumph without fail;
The Future shall forever be unknown,
Until it in the Present shall be shown!

Sunday Sonnet!

Madiba(WP)

When I opine upon your pristine face,
And ponder on the marvel of such grace,
The calm demeanour of persuasive smile,
Enjoin my hasty gestures to restyle;
Too easily your counsel is declined,
Committing us to suffer, much maligned,
Yet, constantly your presence at my side,
In gentle whispers, courage does confide;
Upon each thought and action kindly pour
The elixir of Father Time before
They, with determined missive, take the wing
And all but goodness to their purpose bring;
To you, fair Patience, do these words appeal,
Lest, for my indiscretions I must kneel!

Be still!
Discernment calls,
Distraction thrives on noise,
Self-control induces insight,
Rewarding all who wait, biding their time;
Poorer those weighed down by care,
By busyness impaired,
Goodness resounds
Be still!
