Sunday Sonnet!

Beset by wilful demons of delight,
Two tiny tods of sniggering childhood imps
Indulge their trip into fantasmal flight,
While chattering foursome, sullen adult whimps,
Lament events in gravely troubled world,
Exacerbating personal state of stress;
So little is achieved with brickbats hurled,
Futility of toil is served, no less.
Shall ever human kind revert to sense,
A cry, so often heard abroad these days,
Shall ever vulnerable secure defence,
Lest equity into oblivion gaze?
Some find themselves so far removed from Care,
Even beyond the reach of distant Prayer!

Sunday Sonnet!

Alone she sat disconsolately bowed,
Her customary calm demeanour strained;
Allegiance to Sophia disavowed,
Her credibility now sadly stained;
Distorted images of Truth abound,
Supplanted by intrigue of cunning Lies;
No greater fear can villainy compound
Than other human beings demonise;
Democracy, deflowered by Deceit,
Forever bears the scars of deep distrust,
Yet, Faith must not surrender in defeat,
For Hope shall be restored to all the Just;
Fraternity her mettle needs avail,
Equality shall in the end prevail!

Sunday Sonnet!

bird-feather-wp

Not for the lack of patent wherewithal,
Nor for the want of vocal calls for care,
Indifferent man continues to appal,
Persisting to espouse the lion’s share;
No matter that a surfeit to the soul
Encumbers, even at the point of death,
Or sharing with the needy would console,
Cupidity enslaves to final breath;
Rapacious tentacles embrace the heart,
Denuding it of vestiges of life;
Compassionless awaiting to depart,
Perchance the destiny to be sans strife.
Not for the sake of human decency,
But for yourself aspire to equity!

The Leveller….

A simple wooden cross defines the place,
Each finally is laid,
No status, creed nor crown enjoys more grace,
A common wage is paid,
Equality Displayed!
