Find ample time for others, thought to spare,
Whose daily lives encroach on hunger’s edge,
Their faltering hope consumed by deep despair,
Reserve of courage purposeless to dredge;
Amidst the bustle of your festal cheer,
So often driven by obsessive fun,
Unnoticed, wander eyes and hearts of fear,
For whom to stay alive is all but done;
What tidings does the Manger Infant bring?
How are the homeless housed and famished fed?
As Seraphim their Alleluias sing,
Shall Gracious God provide the daily bread?
Divine Assistance wields not magic wands,
But works through willing human hearts and hands!

There are so many so many who are suffering and struggling. We who are fortunate enough to have food and shelter must never take things for granted. Have a wonderful time in Germany with your daughter. Janet xxx

So important to be aware that others may be lonely or hungry at Christmas, and an elegant and heartfelt reminder. BTW there’s a typo, I think: Line 6: should it be ‘by’ instead of ‘my’? Hugs xx

Thanks Gill. Yes, well spotted…have corrected it. Should be ‘by’. π Hugs!
