Sunday Sonnet!

bird-feather-wp

Not for the lack of patent wherewithal,
Nor for the want of vocal calls for care,
Indifferent man continues to appal,
Persisting to espouse the lion’s share;
No matter that a surfeit to the soul
Encumbers, even at the point of death,
Or sharing with the needy would console,
Cupidity enslaves to final breath;
Rapacious tentacles embrace the heart,
Denuding it of vestiges of life;
Compassionless awaiting to depart,
Perchance the destiny to be sans strife.
Not for the sake of human decency,
But for yourself aspire to equity!

  2. So glad I went on WP feeder. All this from that picture?
    Love this

    Why? I learnt that cupidity means greed. I love the words Rapacious, Denuding, Perchance.
    All those words you used ( I looked every single one up btw) sounded so lovely, lyrical and flowy. That is not a word.

    The words you used are so elegant – I felt mesmerised – being pulled into this deludement . I’m making up words. ha ha! Even though i instinctively knew that the words you used had a warning -proceed with caution. There was this compulsion inside me to buy into this state of humanity. It’s amazing what the choice of words can do and how they have an impact on an individual.
    I thought cupidity had to do with Cupid – Eros’ playing games of the heart.
    This comment is all over the place. I love it. There is so much passion in the choice of your words , I am applauding you in your skill to make Greed and humanities flaws sound so eloquent and civilised. Have a great Sunday.
