Like pristine starch-white table cloth,
A frost bedecks the lawn,
A smitten robin finds no broth,
Its fast to break at dawn,
As pangs of hunger spawn,
In famished waifs forlorn!

Me thinks, me likes, this one. A good thought for an early Spring morning. I like that view of what appears to be a small orchard. Would that perchance be your back yard? 🙂

Thanks. No, the apple orchard is in the Monastery grounds….We have a tiny garden in comparison to theirs….;)

I thought that might be where it is several minutes after I posted the comment. The size of the garden has nothing to do with the pleasure of watching things grow….:)

Indeed….We downsized drastically….remarkable how the mind has become more focussed. 😉

apples? This is a beautiful poem, and the photo fits in well…the fruit trees waiting for spring budding, perhaps a bit of pruning? Interesting… 🙂

of course…one of the things my kids learned early on was how to trim apple trees…I have some great photos. Once my daughter complained that “all of her friends” were down at some beach for Spring break. Bob said that was too bad that she was up in a tree in Ohio…. 🙂
